"...I've had a short career in entertainment that's lasted most of my life."

Dan Whitney
and
Weekend Earth

Dan Whitney, born and raised in Ct. has been an avid outdoorsman and wilderness enthusiast. His interests in camping, hiking and outdoor activities, combined with a love for acting, writing and video production led to the creation of Weekend Earth.

Extentsive Theatrical Career
While employed as a private investigator, he spent several years submitting screenplays to Hollywood, held lead roles on stage in “West Side Story,” as Bernardo, “Wizard of OZ,” as Scarecrow, “Grease,” as Danny Zuko, “Snoopy,” as Linus, and several walk-ons in commercials and soaps. He also held a lead role in a low budget film.

During brief periods of outdoor respites, he found that with so much talk about “getting out there,” people lacked the basic skills and know how. The “what-to-do” as well as the “how-to-do-it” proved to be more than stumbling blocks. They were deterrents. Dan enrolled himself in several computer and video classes, learning and acquiring the skills that would enable him to pass along this knowledge.

Some highlights of his outdoor travels consisted of backpacking Half Dome at Yosemite National Park, California, the Virgin Narrows, Zion National Park, Utah, Glacier National Park, Montana, a float trip down the Alagnak River, Alaska, bike packing through Long Island, NY, and Acadia National Park, Maine.

Dan looks for everyday breaks with hiking and biking as well as sailing, in nearby and sometimes little known locations.

With Weekend Earth, Dan hopes to

ó Stimulate the same love of the outdoors in kids and adults
ó Pass along skills and tips to enjoy outdoor time
ó Help people find their local outdoor resources

Alyson Charles was born ambitious, charismatic, driven, and fun.
Alyson grew up a mid-western girl in Indiana where by the age of three she had already completed her first road race.  Alyson Charles decided to completely devote herself as a runner and by the age of 10 was a Track National Champion.  Her talents as an athlete landed her on ESPN, gave her even more National Championships and awarded her an Athletic Scholarship to run Cross Country and Track for the University of Alabama.

At the University of Alabama, Alyson was an All-Southeastern Conference Athlete, Team Captain, Southeastern Conference Athlete of the Week, Seventh on Alabama’s All-Time Performances List, and the first female to ever compete in the 3000 Meter Steeplechase.  However, being a National Running Phenom was only the first of Alyson Charles’ many successes that would end up garnering her national attention.

After graduating from Alabama’s top-ranked School of Communication, Alyson decided to take yet another bold step and moved to Orlando, Florida, a place where she knew absolutely no one.  While working as Head Personal Trainer at a Downtown Orlando Gym, a client asked Alyson to be his Radio Talk Show Co-Host.  Alyson’s huge on-air talent quickly grabbed the attention of other radio stations and less than one year later she was whisked away, back across the country, to accept the top position of Morning Show Co-Host at WJFX FM/Hot 107.9.

While at Hot 107.9 Alyson Charles gave the station a 78% ratings increase, taking the show to #1!  Alyson connected with over 300 high-profile celebrities while conducting interviews with the likes of Outkast, T.I., Academy Award Winners Three 6 Mafia, Rev. Run of Run DMC, Nick Cannon, Notorious BIG’s Mother, and many, many more.
Alyson Charles’ talents put her in high demand to host many Concerts, including one for the Ying Yang Twins, Road Races, Televised Fashion Shows, Poetry Slams, etc...  In turn, Alyson’s appeal has placed her on Magazine Covers, on the Night Shift Talk Show, in Featured News Stories for “Business People Magazine,” in articles such as “A Day in the Life of Alyson Charles,” and as a featured model for “The Hype” Magazine.

Now, Alyson Charles has a home near New York City where she continues to create and develop hugely successful Radio and Television concepts and segments.
Wherever Alyson Charles goes, success follows, people and audiences embrace her, and intelligence, creativity, passion, personality, laughter, adventure, and gratitude can be found!!
